The TVS Star is TVS' entry-level bike that challenges
the dominance of the Bajaj CT 100 in the economy-segment. TVS has
launched different kinds of motorcycles which are marketed with all
customized specifications. TVS Star is one of their market friendly
bikes.
Looks and Styling
Star, with commuter-bike status, sports minimalist style. Large
16-litre fuel tank gives the Star a muscular look but poor quality
switchgear and the lack of rear fairing are its drawbacks. Star sport
comes with a dual tone alloy graphics, alloy wheels and excellent
speedometer design. The Star Sport is a 100cc bike good for average
users who are looking for a bike offering good features as well as
mileage. Sports bikers wont like its users and performance. The
bike is available in different colors and contemporary design with a
sporty look and currently available in three colors - Silver, Red and
Black. Two variations in models are available.
Control and Comfort
The Star uses single-spine frame and telescopic forks as front
suspension and dual shock absorbers at the rear. Presence of a
box-section swingarm and the longer 1250mm wheelbase supports a
comfortable and stable riding. Its head lamp, and powerful indicators
provide safer riding even at dark night.
Its Star City version has stylish alloy wheels and sleek designed new
exhaust. Its other features are single touch ride switch shocks, extra
grip tyres etc which help the biker in riding it. It has a powerful
headlamp and useful parking light too. Roller Cam Follower (RCF)
technology reduces engine friction.
Engine
The Star is equipped with a four-stroke, air-cooled, single cylinder
engine which makes a displacement of 99.7cc. The engine produces a peak
power of 7.5 bhp at 7500 rpm and a maximum torque of 7.5 Nm at 5500 rpm.
Star City version of the bike makes approximate 100 km/l.
