With an auto market like Indias where more than 70% of the customers prefer picking up hatchback cars as their precious possessions, Ford adds another smarter and trendy model into the competition. The stunningly gorgeous and masculine stylish machine, Figo has been launched to compete with the likes of Maruti Ritz, Hyundai i20, Honda Jazz, and Skoda Fabia, which have a firm base in their respective markets. With an intention of competing in Indias largest and most significant small car market, Figo is a large hatchback with imprints from the outgoing Fiesta platform. For a fresher, youthful, trendier, and low pricier alternative, Figo gives you a second chance to drive luxury, class, and elegance with finesse. With Feista already familiar to the Indian market, Figo has easily managed to get absorbed by Ford admirers. Plus, the high-quality automation and innovative, eco-friendly production techniques are just a few features to woo the masses.
Design & Comfort
With a typical Ford design, Figo has been modeled on the lines of Fiesta and Ikon, yet has been distinguished with a trapezoid lower grille that sits smartly, exuding an aggressive look. If that is not all, the cat eye-like headlamps surely give this charming soul a purposeful expression. The clipped tail lamp shape of the rear body adorns a sporty and dramatic feel, allowing the owner to boast a fresh and contemporary alternative to the traditional brands in the same segment. The ergonomic design featuring a solid stance, invitingly large interiors, and a vibrant, youthful character deems this vehicle as the perfect package to drive in congested urban driving conditions. The sculpted shapes to the body side, comet tail undercut in the doors, and additional light-catching sculpting in the lower body side add to the solidity, substance, and protective safety of the design.
The fresh interior package comes with a brand new instrumental panel, seats, and trim, which keep Figo ahead of other similar B segment options. The interiors combine class-leading aesthetics and functionality to give you a saloon in its own class. With 284 liters of boot space, the largest in the category, this classy machine is sure to tempt you to pack loads of luggage, for a long weekend getaway. Such are the funky and colorful interiors infused with the body color, coupled with extra large seating capacity that makes it a complete and well proportioned vehicle. With a single touch of the remote, the MP3 player and radio, with 4 speakers, can be switched on, a common feature present in most advanced models. But the brand new speed sensing volume control can be termed new which allows one to retain the same momentum even at high speed. Connect your Bluetooth phone and attend a phone call or listen to music from the music system.
Engine
The awesome styling, two engine options, spacious interiors, and plenty of features make Ford Figo a value for money deal. The vehicle has been fitted with petrol and diesel variants. The petrol variant is powered by 1.2 liter engine, pumping out a maximum power output of 71 PS. Talking about the diesel counterpart, it is loaded with a 1.4 liter engine, capable of generating a maximum power output of 69 PS. Both the variants can be driven at the maximum speed of 148 kmph, delivering a performance of 100 kmph under just 15.5 seconds for the petrol engine and 15.8 seconds for the diesel variant. Based on the high traffic conditions prevailing in India, Figo has been tuned to fit well on the hands of Indian drivers. Interestingly, the Distance to Empty element added indicates the number of kms that can be traveled with the available fuel in the tank.
Safety
Ford Figo is a small compact vehicle, offering standard and some advanced features. Besides the basic safety elements, it is equipped with Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) or Electronic Brakeforce Limitation (EBL), dual front airbags, and keyless entry feature called Smart Programmable Remote Key (only in high-end variants). The keyless entry allows the owner to unlock all four doors or only the drivers door, apart from unlocking the trunk door with the pressing of a button present in the key. Other interesting safety features include power door locks, power windows, day and night rear view mirror, passenger rear view mirror, and central locking. This small and stylish machine is powered with Rapid Decelerating Warning System, which activates once the speed crosses 96 kmph, indicated through the flashing of the warning blinker.
