Federation Cup is the second most prestigious club football tournament in India, after the National Football League (NFL). An annual knockout style club football tournament, it was started by the All India Football Federation in 1977 and involves all the major NFL teams. The 27th edition of the Federation Cup held in Goa in 2005 got a shot in the arm, with Zee Sports providing live telecast. In an effort to woo the Indian viewers, Zee employed state-of-the-start broadcasting equipment and a star commentary team as well. To bring in the glamour quotient to the tournament, the media group also introduced a group of cheerleaders called the Zeebras. In the 2007 year, a total of 16 clubs had participated and the event was held in Ludhiana.
