Kinetic Boss 115 was an effort by Kinetic to add more
value to the entry-level segment of the bike market. With higher engine
capacity and greater power in bhp, the Boss 115 added performance
dimension to the economy section. It performance in the economy segment
has been quite impressive.
Looks and Styling
The bike has stylish features like headlamp fairing, cool colors,
distinctive rear end, the unique flat footboard for the pillion and a
smarter set of clocks. One also gets chromed mudguard, rubber covers for
the fork tubes, bottom-drawer switch gear, handle lock that is
disintegrated with the ignition switch, no fuel gauge and one rear-view
mirror. The company has done a lot to improve the looks and style of
Kinetic Boss, and this shows.
Control and Comfort
The dual tube cradle frame ensures a comfortable ride in the potholed
roads of rural hinterland. Regarding braking, Boss is available with
industry standard drums at the front and rear. However, there is room of
improvement here. It has front mud guard in ABS body color and stylish
front fairing. An all round footrest add to the comfort of pillion
rider. Its rectangular box-type swing arm gives more stability for
riding.
Its big wheel base provides extra support to the bike. Its MFR headlamp
results ensure secure riding even during the night time. The seat is
comfortable and long journey dont bother on it. However, one part
which let it down are brakes, for they take longer time than the bikes
of same segment to stop.
Engine
Boss 115 is equipped with a four-stroke, air-cooled, single cylinder
115cc engine that churns out a power of 8.4 bhp at 7500 rpm. The
powerful engine makes for better acceleration and roll-on timings for
the Boss. Thanks to the refined engine, performance is superb. The
mileage is approximate 80km/litre on highways and around 55 on city
routes.
