Visakhapatnam, shortened as Vizag, is a port city and the second largest city in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. Often referred to as �The Jewel of the East Coast�, �The City of Destiny�, and �Goa of the East Coast�, Vizag is the third largest city on the east coast of India, after Kolkata and Chennai. The city is a strip of land situated on the plains and hilly regions of the Eastern Ghats extending to the Bay of Bengal. It lies at an altitude of 5 meters above sea level covering an area of 540 square kilometers. But it is flanked by numerous peaks reaching as high as 900 meters in the Eastern Ghats.
